You'd think she lead a miserable existence. In reality, her days are spent playing with her big brothers, snuggling with mom and dad, reading, singing, clapping, trying on shoes, and basically being waited on hand and adorable little foot. Poor, pitiful princess.

grad_austin_kids_photographer.jpgI think any photog can relate to how difficult it is to put together a portfolio.  In a field where you can end up with thousands upon thousands of perfectly wonderful, portfolio-worthy images over the course of just one year, you *always* end up having to cut pictures that are dear to you in favor of keeping your website fresh and up to date. That's why I absolutely dread the process of updating my portfolio and why I moved to a blogsite instead of a website. But by golly, I'm going to start a revolution...there should be a place for orphaned images on this site, too!

So, would you be willing to help me create a gallery of the Pinkle Toes All Star images? Please don't think it narcissistic.  I truly am curious to know those images on my blog that spoke to you or inspired you over the years. Images that have long since gone by the wayside. Images that even I don't think about until someone says, "I always remember that this one picture you did where..."

If there is one image from my site that stood out to you, perhaps you could describe it or even better, post a link to it (you can e-mail me, if you'd rather). I'll take your input and put together a gallery over the next few months. Maybe I could even pull a VH1 "Behind the Image" twist to it (I know I always love reading about what goes on behind the scenes).

Speaking of All Stars, remember the scandalous wedding a while back (Logi's class was called The All Stars)? Well, the happy couple finally graduated preschool (above). My gosh...seeing how much they changed like this, my mommy heart just did a little wistful flutter.

summer_austin_child_photographer.jpg
The past few weeks have been wonderful with Miss "Sharon" (as my kids called her, even though her name is Shannon) helping us out. I loved watching how she interacted with Amry...their time together doing laundry, picking out just the right shoes, Amry prissing around in my necklaces. She was so wonderful with the boys, too (like their spikey hair-do's?).

Miss "Sharon's" last day was yesterday and I just want her to know that we are going to miss her very, very much, but we also want to wish her the best of luck as she ventures out into her career.  We were very blessed to have her and we are even more blessed that an equally wonderful replacement was able to pick up right where she left off. J...can't wait to spend the summer with you!

Finally getting some help with the kids/house has changed our lives! I can't even begin to tell you how nice it is to have work days that actually have an end now, because for a while there, the days and nights were just blending into one. Sure, I still have to do a few things at night, but at least now I have a solid block of uninterrupted time when I can really get things done. I can't believe we waited so long to take that plunge! It's been so refreshing to actually have a few hours in the day when I can just focus on the family and savor all of those wonderful moments like watching Tristan's butterflies eclose or taking care of Logan's shiner that resulted from a falling pipe or reading Amry's favorite stories to her over and over again. For the first time in a very long time, I've had a bit of free time. And I quite like it. And I think my kids do, too.

angel.jpgMy sweet little angel.
Every day you surprise me with something new.
You're so confident and eager to help.
I just can't believe how well you comprehend the world around you.
I love your independent spirit.

Every morning, we snuggle in bed watching "Jack's Big Music Show."
Then we pick out your outfit.
Your favorite part is deciding on the shoes.
I swear I didn't teach you that.

angelblue.jpgEach day, it's juice for breakfast,
"Teeeeeeeeea!" for lunch.
And milk for dinner.

While I'm working, you love to run in and say, "Boo!" with a big grin.
Then you burst into giggles as you run away to try it again.

angelpaint.jpgYou love to swing.
You love your books.
You love music.
You love your baby.
You love tormenting your brothers.
You love being Daddy's little girl.

angelfeet.jpgEvery night, ready for bed, "dat" clutched securely in your arms, thumb perched in mouth,
You motion to each of us for kisses.
You are pretty much in charge of this family.
And we are happy to be your subjects.

angellast.jpgI'm not sure you'll ever fully understand how loved you are and how much you have blessed this family. I'm not sure I'll ever find the words to tell you that.

berry_austin_childrens_photographer.jpgWe've been planning to take the kids out to Sweet Berry Farm in Marble Falls for some time now and I'm so thankful to my friend, Karyn, for pulling this trip all together for us. It was drizzling most of the day, but no one seemed to mind. The lush berry fields were so beautiful and oh, how lovely it was to watch my kiddos pick berries, pet the baby goats and donkeys, run around and play tag, and just enjoy a break from the chaos at our house right now (more on that later).

Some snaps from today:

But I really enjoyed watching my baby girl explore. She hasn't really had a chance to venture outside like this since she started walking (our land is pretty wild) and I'm going to share a little secret here: the child does not eat fruits or vegetables. My boys were usually pretty good about this, but she just won't touch anything green or good for you. She has refused to eat every strawberry ever offered to her, but she went WILD over these! The very first one she plucked off the bush and plopped the whole thing into her mouth, juice dribbling down her chin. She was unstoppable! She was crazed! After about 4 or 5 of 'em, honestly, she looked like she had killed a pig. She was the funniest thing ever stealing strawberries out of everyone's baskets and giggling her new word for berry, "Ber! Ber! Ber!" over and over again.

I love this girl. My little strawberry shortcake.
