I'm sitting here listening to it POUR right now and it's hard to believe that just a few weeks ago, Austin had emerged from this somewhat cold winter into full on springtime! We had the best time bathing in the sunshine and soaking in the mild, warm weather that evening. Love, love, loved the colors she chose for her family and how they totally fit in with the mood of the session and the city that evening. Now that I think about it, it's also hard to believe that I first met them when mama was still pregnant with her baby girl--I tried to dig up all the old posts, but my brain just gave up ;-). And now to have documented the first few days and the first year of his life, too, truly means the world!
FYI - if you've been thinking about a session this year, a heads up on my calendar:
Feb - full

Okay. Think I'll turn off the computer and rest my eyes for a bit while snuggled up listening to the rain...
I loved the deep, rich, bold colors of his session. I loved the relaxed nature of his parents. I love that he had that relaxed nature, too. *These* are the kind of newborn sessions that make me wish I had hired a newborn photographer for all of my babies.
I love that it was such a contrast to the misty, wintry feel of her maternity pictures:
[Though it seems like forever ago in looking at the newborn pictures, I vividly remember the day she came out to the studio for her maternity session...it was so grey and cold outside...I swear it could have snowed. When she showed up in the grey sweater dress, I thought it suited the mood and showed off her beautiful belly so perfectly!]
I know photographers pray to have sleepy newborns at photo sessions, but this was a bit much. We tried everything we could to get this little snuggle bug to wake up for at least a few images for his photographic debut, but he would not oblige. He was just too content...
I have to say, I feel pretty special that I'm often one of the first people to know when my clients are expecting. Quite literally the day of the first session I had with her beautiful family, she whispered to me that she might be needing me again this past November. And sure enough, we did and he was a delight!
We've been having some amazing sunsets at the Pinkle Toes studio this winter. Add that to the amazing green grass my hubby planted + two beautiful expectant parents and it makes my heart flutter with joy. All of my newborn clients have the option to add a mini maternity session to their newborn session to document this precious time without having to invest in a full session...definitely take advantage of that opportunity if you can!
Speaking of opportunities, if you have a baby or are expecting to have a baby any time between 1/10/12 and 1/31/12 and live in Austin, we want to hear from you!!! It could definitely be worth your while ;-).
[Aaaaaaaanddd...just a thought, but all of you expectant mommies (or even if you're thinking of having a baby in the near future) in Austin...our .emme. boudoir sweetheart mini sessions coming up next weekend might just be the perfect Valentine's Day gift ;-).]
Even before I met her, I could tell on paper that her senior portrait session was going to be vibrant, bright, and full of energy--just like her! She knows exactly who she is and makes no apologies for it. What a rare and invaluable thing to have as a high school senior. We had a blast!
[Attention graduating seniors in the Austin area: NOW is the time to book your senior portraits...do not wait until April or May...those spots fill up *very* quickly and I wouldn't want you to miss out.]
