Walking up to her at our session this week, I kept tearing up. I was having flashbacks to here...and then to here (sigh)...and then this...and to these from last fall...
I admit it's a little tough for me to watch these kiddos grow up. It reminds me of how fast my own children are growing. But it does make me happy that families are documenting each of these milestones in photographs...something I promise they will never regret. It makes me excited to see how much she's going to change even over the next year. Thank you guys...from the bottom of my heart..it has been a beautiful, beautiful year with you!

October is full,
November is almost, too,
Book your holiday session now,
Or you'll be blue.
We can hold it in July
Or August is neat.
For a full session those months,
You'll get a special treat.
Obviously I'm tired,
And my poetry is lame.
But without family pictures,
Your cards simply won't be the same.

Okay, enough of that. (I can't believe I went there.) All I wanted to say was this:November is almost, too,

This was sooooooo special to me because:
1) I took her maternity pictures back in the day when she was expecting her first baby
2) it was really neat to see how differently she showed in each of the pregnancies
3) well...I got to watch him be born last week (first time photographing an actual c-section which was an incredible experience!)
4) I get to bask in his newborn cuddliness this weekend!
and 5) this is another one of those situations where my clients have become good friends and I simply feel blessed to know this family.

I quite enjoy the opportunity to photograph a maternity session where the focus is on the family. Here they are...at this time...together...getting ready to bring a new life into their family. In spite of having a toddler, it's peaceful compared to what changes are about to take place.
(I could have worked in this yellow room all day!)
Big sis "to be" got a little sleepy during our session and so she spent a little quiet time with her parents. These were my favorite moments.
And of course, the pupster had to be in some pictures!
(Oh, doesn't mama remind you of Natalie Portman??? Well, I thought so anyway.)
