I'm a sucker for Valentine's Day. I know it's all so commercial, but I can't help it. I love the colors, I love the sentiment, I loved making valentines and valentine mailboxes, I loved the excitement of wondering if I had any secret admirers growing up (turns out I didn't, but still... ;-), I love that my mom always had a special little treat waiting for us downstairs when we woke in the morning, and I love that I get to carry on that tradition with my kiddos.
I also love hearts. Especially bokeh hearts. And I love getting to work with two people who are very much IN love. And I love the anticipation of wondering who that new little person will be...

Okay, I'm going to go a bit out of order here because I've been *dying* the share the images from my first newborn studio session! This was from the demonstration I did for the FIRST Pinkle Toes 4 Photographers workshop earlier this month. So much was going wrong for me that day (my mom/assistant was sick, my camera broke, the weather was yuck), but this little baby girl and her family were oh so right! After a bottle and a few minutes of rocking and shhhhhhing, she was putty in my hands.
Just look at that smile while looking up at her daddy! She seriously has me thinking I could start offering newborn sessions in studio....just maybe...

As physically and emotionally and creatively drained I am this evening, I'm up late with my heart full of joy and appreciation. Of all the things that have gone wrong this week (broken camera, cold rain, and a very sick mommy), I am SO grateful for the many, many things that went perfectly right, including:
1. Adorable baby #1.
2. Adorable baby #2.
3. And a group of incredible women who have been my rocks over these past few days. There is so much talent here. So much personality. So much passion for the art of photography. I'm so privileged to have had the opportunity to work with you. Thank you to my girls of the "Wawa Sisterhood."

Those of you who hang out with me on Facebook know that I was totally nervous about my first newborn twins photo session today. But all of that worry was for not because these two were absolute angels for me and I cannot wait to go through their pics. Meanwhile, here's a quick peek and then a couple of outtakes that I thought were cute:
"Don't look now, sis. That crazy lady with that clicky camera is BACK!"
