I *knew* we were perfectly matched the second I read over her Client Form. She had a unique and specific vision for her senior pictures and it was as if she could read my mind. I've been dying to do something like this for such a long time so you'll have to indulge me while I share nearly every image from her session. I am proud of this one for sure and she should be, too. She carried it off perfectly!
[Most images shot at the wonderful, mysterious, beautiful amazing Eponymous Garden house. I am forever grateful to Debora and Lorne there who have been so gracious and accommodating to me and my crazy session ideas.]
Attention Class of 2012: I can squeeze in two more senior sessions in April if you want to have your images back in time for graduation announcements, etc. Contact me ASAP to get the session information!
Class of 2013? It's definitely not too early to start thinking about and to schedule your own senior portraits. Take a look through my gallery and if you think we're a good match, let's talk!
Maybe it's because I know what a miracle she is. Maybe it's because I vividly remember meeting them for the first time at their maternity session...
...and then sitting around chatting about the miracle of her birth during her newborn session. Maybe it's because her parents couldn't be any sweeter. Maybe it's because her grandma was so overcome with emotion when taking pictures with her we could hardly take pictures. Maybe it's because this baby girl is so danged adorable. I'm not sure what it is, but this session gets me...big time...each time I flip through the images.
I loved the deep, rich, bold colors of his session. I loved the relaxed nature of his parents. I love that he had that relaxed nature, too. *These* are the kind of newborn sessions that make me wish I had hired a newborn photographer for all of my babies.
I love that it was such a contrast to the misty, wintry feel of her maternity pictures:
[Though it seems like forever ago in looking at the newborn pictures, I vividly remember the day she came out to the studio for her maternity session...it was so grey and cold outside...I swear it could have snowed. When she showed up in the grey sweater dress, I thought it suited the mood and showed off her beautiful belly so perfectly!]
I first spoke of my friend Michelle (my sister in Virgo-hood) several years ago on my blog. I have longed for the opportunity to do something for her and I was thrilled when I finally got the chance to photograph her stunning family. She and the rest of the Heartsong family have given me and my kiddos and many, many other families in the Austin area the precious gift of music...together (did you see her on the news???). It is a gift which has extended beyond the classroom at Heartsong for me and has even allowed my mother and I the opportunity to sing together in the Women of Heartsong Choir. I am eternally grateful for that.
Michelle was gifted with not only a beautiful voice and the talent to play the guitar (did you ever hear her song, "Welcome Baby" featured on this birth slideshow?), but she is magical when it comes to working with children...and their parents. Not surprisingly...she is also magical when it comes to her own family. It was a beautiful evening and I hope you love these images as much as I do, Michelle.
The set is coming together for this weekend's .emme. boudoir sweetheart mini sessions. Just a few openings Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Let's chat if you want to learn more...
