I think we all understand just how much children change in their first year of life. And yet going through the images from his earlier days here...
here...
and here...
...you still see "him" in all of the images.

I have thoroughly enjoyed working with his family over the past year and it brings me so much joy to see this healthy, happy, smiley little boy now:
We had a blast at his one year session! It was hot, but thankfully, we started early enough in the morning that we were done before the heat really set in. And we were even fortunate enough to find an incredible patch of green grass (so very rare in this awful drought). Oh, my, he's cute!

This is my mom(my). AKA Mee Maw. AKA the Pinkle Toes Office Manager.
She is an incredible woman.
She may not believe it, but I think she's led an incredible life so far, overcoming many challenges that would probably have crushed me.
She is happy.
The happiest I've *ever* seen her.
I thank my lucky stars that she has finally found someone to be happy with her.
I think she should write a book.
I really do.
She has an intriguing story to tell.

They flew in from out of town. She said she loved Austin. She said she loved the Hotel San Jose. She said this was just to celebrate her birthday. She had style and grace and this classic, unassuming beauty. The connection between the two of them made me so excited to see their future together play out.
No, seriously...LOVED this session:
No, seriously...LOVED this session:
October is full,
November is almost, too,
Book your holiday session now,
Or you'll be blue.
We can hold it in July
Or August is neat.
For a full session those months,
You'll get a special treat.
Obviously I'm tired,
And my poetry is lame.
But without family pictures,
Your cards simply won't be the same.

Okay, enough of that. (I can't believe I went there.) All I wanted to say was this:November is almost, too,

Or August is neat.
For a full session those months,
You'll get a special treat.

We all came together at one of my favorite parks to throw leaves, laugh, and enjoy the amazing fall air last holiday season (yes...I'm still about 10 posts out from blogging 2011 sessions ;-). Mom's eyes had me captivated, but the little ones...they definitely stole my heart. I know family sessions aren't always the easiest thing to get everyone together for (who am I kidding...it's got to be more difficult than childbirth), but as I'm reminded by my own children every day, you don't get this back...not one second of it.
