It's so shocking to me to see babies when they're newborns and then at one year. I can always recognize their features, but am constantly blown away by how much they've changed, too. The best part is finally getting to see some personality emerge. I know it is a precious journey for the parents, but for a photographer, it can be a truly unique perspective. Gosh she was lovely and the setting of their home + the weather + the light that morning could not have been more glorious!
...catches the most incredible light EVER!!! People cringe whenever I suggest a sunrise session, but oh, it's so worth it. All of these images (with the exception of the two black and whites) are straight out of the camera...that's how good the light was to us.
It has been such a pleasure getting to know this beautiful couple and I'm thrilled to photograph the birth of their sweet baby in just a few short weeks.
When I was at their home for her newborn session last fall (remember the canoe?), it was under major construction (her mommy is an amazing architect). So it was wonderful that they opened their home to our workshop group this spring and let us see the progress. It was BEAUTIFUL and she did an incredible job of utilizing the space. Love, love, love what they did for the master bedroom and kinda wish I had taken more pics for her to show it off.
But of course, we weren't really there to photograph a bedroom. We were there because of this blue-eyed angel. She was all smiles and giggles for us and am very much looking forward to seeing her again next week to celebrate the big "oh ONE!"---canoe, and all.
