Last fall, everything was gold…the leaves, the light, the land, the flowers. How fitting to represent this time of golden opportunities that await after her senior year.

I thoroughly enjoyed working and chatting with her tonight. Such an exciting time in her life as she finishes up high school and ventures off to a BIG city (as in New York big) to start following her dreams. But the more we talked, the more I realized that as much as things have changed since I was in high school, much more than that has stayed exactly the same. And that’s really cool….

…because it makes me feel like I’m not quite as as old as I actually am. 😉

Had to laugh: we rescheduled her senior portraits due to freakishly strong winds only to end up on a day that was just as windy ;-). But you know what? It worked out for us just lovely, I think.

…Austin stays aglow.

How’s this for “not your typical senior portrait?” I was so thrilled when her and her mommy drove in to Austin for a “girls’ date” — a night on the town and then photo session with me in the morning, followed by a shopping trip to Anthropologie (bummer I couldn’t go on that one!). Anthro is SO her style and all throughout the shoot, images from my favorite catalogs were running through my head.

If you are a senior in the Austin area about to graduate (high school or college) in 2011, it’s not too late to schedule your senior portraits to commemorate the end of an incredible journey and the beginning of a new one. OR, if you are going to be in the Class of 2012, you have an opportunity to serve as a senior model for Pinkle Toes Photography. See HERE for details.

It was such a big hit for the Class of 2011 that I’m doing it again for the Class of 2012. Pinkle Toes Photography is once again looking for positive, outgoing, and energetic
high school juniors who will be graduating from any high school in the
Austin area in 2012 (Westlake, Cedar Park, Leander, Lake Travis, Round
Rock, Pflugerville, Georgetown, etc). This is your chance to have your
senior portraits taken for FREE and earn unique photo rewards! Signed
model release will be required. The process is very selective and we
will only choose one senior model per high school. If you’re interested
in finding out more, please fill out this form. Only applications via this form will be considered. Deadline to apply is March 31, 2011.

Are you in the graduating Class of 2011 and still haven’t had your senior pictures taken? It’s not too late to book an appointment for your own pictures! Contact me for session information.

And be sure to check out the updated senior portraits gallery for more examples of senior sessions.

QUICK LINK TO VOTE HERE!

[Also, don’t miss the annual “Year in Review” slideshow at the end of this post]

austin_family_kids_birth_child_newborn_baby_photographer.jpgLet’s kick off 2011 the best way I can imagine with a recap of 2010 and determining our 2nd Annual Pinkle’s Pic of the Year Winner! Each month in 2010, I selected an image (or images) that moved me, but now (as before) it’s YOUR job as the Pinkle Toes Blogstalkers to decide
which of these was the best image of 2010.

M’kay, let’s vote! You can click on the images in the poll to view larger:

[Poll not showing properly? You can also vote via THIS LINK.]

The winner will receive an 11×14 canvas of their winning image AND a $500 Pinkle Toes gift card to be used
on a Premium session in 2011. Two runners-up will each receive
a $100 gift card and the Grand Prize winner gets to choose a 3rd
runner-up, also to receive a $100 gift card!

The fine print:

  • Voting will run January 1st-31st (ending at midnight central time)
  • Voting is monitored by IP address, so no multiple voting.
  • Results will not be shown, but I will announce winners on the blog Tuesday, Feb 1st.
  • I reserve the right to disqualify entries or terminate/modify the contest if necessary.
  • No purchase necessary to win.

Just like last year, I have absolutely NO clue who is going to take this prize. I’m just as excited as these families are to find out what will happen. (Did you know we had more than 1,400 votes last year??? Craziness!)

And of course, I can’t start a new year without taking a look back at all of the amazing people I’ve had the fortune of working with last year. I love making this slideshow every year…I love remembering each and every session. Be warned, though, this slideshow had to go pretty fast so I could fit all of the images in. Be sure to watch because it’s full of my favs from the year and many, many images that I haven’t even blogged yet:

I’ve said it many times before, but thank you…a million thank you’s to all of my clients. I truly feel blessed to have met each of you. Thank you for inviting me into your homes, to the births of your children, to glimpse into your lives and for trusting me to capture what makes your family so special and beautiful.

Much love,

Michele

Oh my gosh. Was this session *really* back in August? Why, yes, I believe it was. I don’t get to work with families with older kids very often, but when I do, it’s always a treat. I look at mom up there and I imagine myself in her shoes in just a blink of an eye. Well, I hope so anyway,  because those boys of hers are true gentleman and it was a pleasure to get to work with all of them that day. Thought for sure the skies were going to open up on us, but thankfully, the rain held off…

sparkly_georgetown_senior_portraits.jpgI’d say this constitutes sparkly ;-). A wonderful, magical, “sparkly” senior portrait session this morning in wonderful, magical, “sparkly” Austin, TX.

Wow. I’m a little behind on this, huh? I have to say I had a tough time choosing because there have been so many amazing families this fall with some really unique images. I figure that since I’m so late in posting this, I could pick more than one for each month.  [What is Pinkle’s Pic of the Month?]

So, here are the winners for October:

And then, here are the winners for November:

We’ve got one more round of winners to come at the end of December and then in January, it’s voting time again! I can’t wait to see what happens this year!

Congratulations to all of the finalists!
