Helping this family celebrate their life in their new dream home was magical. Hearing the story of the house was even more incredible…long story, short: don’t give up on a dream. Even if it takes longer than you had anticipated, persistence pays off. It’s quite clear that these two little ladies are perfectly content here and are super duper loved!

Don’t forget, we are now booking for the 6th Annual FREE Pinkle Toes Photography Kids Only Holiday Minis! A little sneak peek of the set is HERE and to find out more (and see more pics) and snag your spot, inquire HERE. At first, I thought we were going to be treated with a magnificent sunrise this morning…the colors started out so pretty in the water. Sadly, the sun disappeared shortly after this first series of images and didn’t come back out. But we were not thwarted because the cloud cover actually let us shoot for a loooooooong time and we were able to go anywhere we wanted in the park instead of having to run for shade.

I think mom did a FANTASTIC job throwing in that splash of color with the flowers. The girls loved having their little bouquets to hold during the photo session. They also loved photo bombing mom and dad when they tried to get snuggly:

Even though she’s not smiling, I love that you can pretty much see her very soul through those beautiful eyes here.

SOOOO much fun to get to play with the shapes and shadows and levels of the parking garage! I was so glad they were down for that little experiment!

I look forward to working with this family every year for so many reasons: they are relaxed, happy to be together, and they let me get creative. I have been itching to edit these images, anxious to play with the richness of color and the pure, natural expressions of the kiddos, and plus, I can honestly say I’ve never had a session end with throwing corn kernels and that was just so. much. fun! Thank you guys for yet another perfect session and for once again, raising the bar for family photography! One of my favs HERE.

We’ve been working together for years and I have thoroughly enjoyed each session we’ve had for all different reasons. This one may have been one of the most colorful ones and it was great to incorporate a bit of Austin wall art and a gorgeous Austin park in one. My favorite pic from the playground is HERE.

I’ve told mom and dad this before, but their boys get along so incredibly well! They’re about the same age difference as my two boys, but what I wouldn’t give for my sons to be as close as these brothers are. It is always such a pleasure hanging out with these guys…they are so sweet and happy and inquisitive and caring!

I adore this lovely lady and her beautiful family and I was very excited to get to come work with them in their gorgeous new home in Houston. Most of all, I was excited that she thought to invite her mom and grandmother to the session so that we could photograph four generations of women together. That photo they are holding/looking at is the very first picture they took in the United States after immigrating from Russia and that photo speaks volumes of history and bravery and love to me. THIS image also says love to me ;-).

These guys are no strangers to the Pinkle Toes blog and every year, their session is full of vibrant color and personality! It was a hot, humid morning when I went to visit them near Houston for their photo shoot, but we all stuck it out and even got a surprise visit from a puppy dog that really helped to bring a smile to the face of the youngest little guy. My favorite image from this session can be found HERE.

Another family that is dear to my heart and I can honestly say, I don’t think they’ve ever looked more gorgeous or more happy. As usual, I loved the outfits mom put together and that teepee set up was so beautiful and colorful! Of course, it’s those beaming smiles from the girls that really made this session perfect. Vibrant, bright, funny, confident, spirited little girls and it’s a pleasure working with them! Favs HERE.

The photos should hopefully speak for themselves, but this is 100% for real what their Sundays look like and that was 100% mom’s intention behind this very special photo session. I’ve been working with these amazing people since before their eldest was born and we’ve done every kind of family photo session under the sun. I know mom has been dreaming of capturing this time when her sons are old enough to play ball in the back yard and young enough to still be tucked in. Oh, I teared up so many times that evening: inspired by how beautifully they work together as a family and wistful for the days when my kids were this little, before homework and after school activities replaced bedtime stories. MK…these moments have now been documented forever and I hope they bring up powerful and happy memories for you and all of your boys each time you see these pics and you never forget that this is what your Sundays look like.

(She’s already seen this one, but my personal fav image can be found HERE.)

I’ve been photographing him since he was still in his mommy’s tummy and a little while ago, I got to work with him on his SIXTH birthday! Wow, wow, wow! We celebrated along South Congress by letting him speed around on his scooter in his awesome blue suede shoes. Believe it or not, it was REALLY hot that day, so we took a little break inside Home Slice Pizza to cool off while he enjoyed a delicious slice of pizza. Then we visited Hey, Cupcake! followed by a giant lemon, lol. He did amazing the entire evening, even though it was so ridiculously hot. And I have to say, his mommy looked SO beautiful and happy to be hanging out with her birthday boy. Love this ALL boy pic HERE.

We ventured out to Marble Falls (Horseshoe Bay, specifically) in the wee hours of the morning to catch the sunrise and to take advantage of the temps before it was too late. It was a lucky treat to witness the fog over the waters and the pink and blue watercolor reflections from the sky. As if right on cue, the sun peeked out to highlight golden curls and the free spirits of these sisters. They got to run across a golf course with total abandon (my FAV HERE) and then bask in the glow of a sparkling pond with their beautiful mommy. I have been lucky enough to photograph each of these beauties since they were born and I have loved getting to see their personalities develop through the years. Their bond as sisters is quite apparent, but individually, they each bring something precious and unique to their family.

At the end of our session, mama asked specifically if we could take some pictures by this stone entryway (the series just above). When we started shooting there, I noticed it was strangely familiar. And then it washed over me with a wave of wistfulness and pride and disbelief: this was the site of my very first professional photo session almost 10 years ago exactly. Now that is just beyond coincidence, my friends. As proof, here’s my all time fav image from that session all those years ago:

What a journey these 10 years have been!
