As if it was the “yang” to this “yin,” we celebrated his 1 year birthday by seeing just how much color we could find in downtown Austin. We truly did not have to go far–that’s just one of the many, many things I love about this city…it is so rich with vibrant color and texture! He was so expressive and that boy TORE into his cupcake. Lucky for us, there was a hose nearby where we could clean up our mess. Probably one of my favorite parts of the session was watching mom and dad work together on that task as a team.

frames_austin-family-photographer.jpg

I’ve been anxiously awaiting the time when I could show these off and now, here we go! I’m so excited to offer these hand-finished beautiful wood frames to my clients in 16 styles, available in 50+ colors. You MUST see them in person…they are divine! I love the idea of mixing matching the various styles and colors to create wall collages, too, and I’d be thrilled to help you design something for a specific space using the images from your sessions with me.

Speaking of sessions, did you know I only have five openings left for holiday sessions right now? And, they are all in September. October and November are booked solid. If you have been in contact with me about securing a family holiday session but haven’t actually reserved the session yet, I strongly encourage you to do so now.

Can’t wait to see what kind of beautiful wall creations we come up with using these new Signature Frames!

This session had it all…

…three adorable children with a super wonderful, loving mama…

all-austin-family-lifestyle-photographer-2.jpg…family snuggles and special time just for dad + daughter…

all-austin-family-lifestyle-photographer-4.jpg…a piano prodigy, funny songs made up to Nirvana tunes by dad, headstands on a funky purple couch, lush green grass where mom and dad could rest for spell…

all-austin-family-lifestyle-photographer-3.jpg…bikes and wagons…

all-austin-family-lifestyle-photographer-childrens-kids-photographer.jpg…sprinklers and watermelon…

all-austin-family-lifestyle-photographer-childrens-kids-photographer-bts.jpg…and even me! P.S. Remember the story about the bottom left photo? I still laugh about that.

It was such a pleasure to get to capture this family doing all the things they love to do together. Can’t wait to put together their album, too! I LOVE making albums and knowing that the images are going to go together to tell the story…the pictures are going to get looked at and remembered time and time again. Makes my heart happy!

m_austin_family_child_maternity-photographer.jpgPretty is definitely the first word that comes to mind when I think of this session. This was from way back when it used to rain here. In fact, I think we actually had to reschedule because of rain which was a little risky since they had traveled in from New Mexico. Meg is a VERY busy and VERY talented and now VERY pregnant photographer ;-). I just LOVE her work and I’m so excited to have a new photog to inspire me. We really hit it off and I very much enjoyed working with her. We had actually made plans to get together again in New Mexico this fall, but we have since tabled our RV trip (boooo :-(. I’m so excited to “see” their new baby boy when he makes his arrival!

It was the first time they had all been together in many years (we were even joined by her son’s girlfriend). Her children came from/live all over the globe. They are amazing and doing amazing things in their lives. I imagine she is very, very proud.

I heard this song for the first time the other day and I couldn’t help but to think of my own life, my kiddos when they grow up, and all of the families I’ve gotten to work with over the years. I’m not one for sappy country songs, but this one got me…and then became the soundtrack while I edited this session…

com_austin-family-lifestyle-photography.jpgI hope I’m not telling on myself, but truly, this was one of the easiest sessions I’ve ever had (I guess I’ve paid my dues in the past). These boys were amazing and their parents were so relaxed and down-to-earth. Driving up to their home, I was getting *really* nervous because the skies were getting dark and there were rumors of bad storms (I guess that tells you how long ago this session was ;-). So when I got there, I told the boys that we were going to have to make it quick. They were absolute ANGELS! Not gonna lie…when I got a little giddy that their grandparents showed up for a few shots (celebrating a BIG anniversary this year). And I’m also not gonna lie about how mom’s eyes mesmerized me.

Yup, that pretty much sums up this beautiful baby boy and his 6 month photo session. 😉

Oh, and, if you still haven’t booked your family holiday session, be sure to check out the remaining openings left for 2011. Slim pickin’s. Remember, a session is not booked unless you’ve paid the Reservation Fee.

wb_austin_family_lifestyle_photographer.jpgI literally just sent these proofs off to order and I thought mom would love a bigger peek into her completely relaxed and so very fun photo session. Ack! So many favs, it was hard to choose. There’s just so much adoration and emotion in this family. Now that I think about it, definitely going to have to do a “part 2” post.
