On that morning, she got dressed up in her preppy best, ate her bowl of oatmeal all by herself, helped me pack up the water bottle in her backpack, stood on tiptoes to kiss her brothers and her daddy goodbye, hopped into the car with me, and eagerly walked into her very first classroom.
On that afternoon, I picked her up–exhausted, hungry, with stringy hair, and bleary-eyed from crying all day.
Her, too.
This is not going to be easy. Not one bit.
oh nuts, I was hoping that she would find the attention she so craves, or at least someone to hold her 24/7 (and maybe they were and she cried anyway?). I hope it gets better fast.
Ohhh she is a darling! It will get better soon, don’t worry, just give it a time and let it settle down.
Not easy for whom? heehee Awwww. My girl starts preschool Tuesday, but she’s been in daycare so it’s different. I know what a big step this is for both of you. Now suck it up and get some work done;)
Oh Michele……I know what you mean . hugs.
I am just so in awe of the wonderful images you are going to always have of your precious little family
oh bless her heart!! it will get better!
OMG that outfit!!! Adorable!
It will get easier. I promise!
love the first picture on this post. It says it all.
this breaks my heart, she is getting so big!!!
she’s seriously got to be the best dressed preschooler out there. 🙂
get in as much of the dressing her up as you can before she starts having opinions. my DD won’t let me dress in hardly anything *i* want her to wear anymore…:)
That first on is SO cute!!
So stinkin’ cute! And I could feel the emotion–the wave gets me. Just precious.
I didn’t need to read any of your words. That first picture just broke my heart and I knew it had to have destroyed yours! (BTW, she’s incredibly adorable – nearly edible.)
I am always amazed at the story a single image can tell. Yours, of course, speak volumes. Chin up. Wish I could say it gets easier, but you know I’d be lying.
She should be with me at my preschool! Oh, we would have soooo much fun!!!
You crack me up! And she is adorable! We got the same little backpack for our babes! Good luck! She’ll have a blast hanging out with all the other little monsters 🙂
The first photo is breaking my heart! Just went through all this with my 2 yr old. Seriously heartbreaking!
So sweet but completely breaks your heart! What a neat moment to capture.
