Sitting in music class one day, the daughter of a soon-to-be friend of mine was wearing the most adorable shirt…come to find out, the woman who made it lives right here in Austin. And then one day, that woman just happened to contact me to see if I’d be wiling to photograph some of her pieces. Um, YES please!!!
Now, go check out Oh Fiddlesticks. Really hip and unique clothing for girls AND boys (which is definitely hard to find)!! Rockin’ bags by Merah Muda.

…catches the most incredible light EVER!!! People cringe whenever I suggest a sunrise session, but oh, it’s so worth it. All of these images (with the exception of the two black and whites) are straight out of the camera…that’s how good the light was to us.
It has been such a pleasure getting to know this beautiful couple and I’m thrilled to photograph the birth of their sweet baby in just a few short weeks.

I know every parent hopes that their children will be the best of friends when they are little and when they grow up. Sometimes, it takes a little while for those positive sibling relationships to develop (as in the case of my two boys, LOL), but every now and then some parents are very lucky to observe a sibling bond that forms instantly (as in the case of these two sisters). I hope they treasure their closeness because it is quite a beautiful and rare thing to see so early.
Oh, just realized I hadn’t blogged the images from their maternity session yet either. It was sooooooo windy that day, but they stuck it out anyway. Well worth it!!

Wow. Was this *really* all the way back in March??? He was such a perfect angel for our newborn workshop demonstration and let me tell you, his poor dad (who was suffering through some kind of cold) was quite the trooper. These tender moments of mom and dad cuddled up with a brand new baby are what keep me going. You just don’t get these memories back and when you’re in the middle of trying to figure out your new role as a parent (a sleep-deprived parent at that), you can quickly forget what it was like when they were *this* brand new.
Looking forward to demonstrating this kind of newborn photography for the 2012 workshop attendees (we have some openings left), but with a little twist…this time, we’re going into homes for the newborn part. I’m excited. I love exploring my client’s environments!

This is my mom(my). AKA Mee Maw. AKA the Pinkle Toes Office Manager.
She is an incredible woman.
She may not believe it, but I think she’s led an incredible life so far, overcoming many challenges that would probably have crushed me.

She is happy.
The happiest I’ve *ever* seen her.
I thank my lucky stars that she has finally found someone to be happy with her.
I think she should write a book.
I really do.
She has an intriguing story to tell.

Shortly before they became a family of four, there were just the three of them. I’m so glad we got to spend a little time documenting their lives together at that moment.

I’m usually pretty decisive when it comes between color and black and white…an image just *is* one or the other. But in this case, I just can’t decide. Both have such different moods. Both are so very *her*. Decisions, decisions…
