The very first time I photographed her family, I felt so connected to them. Now that they are a family of 5, we have even more in common. Her house is SO colorful and creatively decorated. *I* want to live there. I so enjoyed the very lifestyle nature of their session. It was totally relaxed, no preconceived ideas, we just did what families do…

e-austin-nursing-breastfeeding-photography.jpg…like take a snack break, for instance 😉

e-austin-family-childrens-lifestyle-photographer.jpgSee what I mean? Look at those yummy colors!!!

e-austin-family-portraits.jpgTheir backyard was just as magical.

e-austin-kids-photographer.jpgVery much looking forward to seeing these two play in front of a crowd someday. I can say I knew them when 😉

e-austin-modern-family-portrait-photography.jpgSigh. I was there forever that night. I didn’t want to leave. We were having such a great time hanging out, playing around, sharing stories, and commiserating about the “joys” of having three kiddos. Erin…I know I’ve told you this before, but your family is amazing and you and Adam have done such a great job as parents. I admire your easy-going nature (even if you claim it wasn’t always so). So glad to have you as a friend, my dear.

Since her newborn session and at 6 months she’s had me wrapped around her adorably chubby little baby fingers. But I’ve become attached to her parents, too…

l2_austin_family_lifestyle_photographer.jpg…and I thoroughly enjoyed exploring their property, where we decided to commemorate her 1 year birthday.

l3_austin_childrens_photographer.jpgOne year of motherhood. And fatherhood…

l4_austin_family_photographer.jpgOne full year as a family of three.

l5_austin_baby_photographer.jpgThey have big plans for this place.  Her daddy says he’s going to build her a tree house right here.

l6_austin_couples_engagement_phhotographer.jpgThey are a wonderfully connected couple.

We were packing up and heading to the car when I noticed this scene…

l7_austin_toddler_photographer.jpg…and then we headed to the house for a few more…

l8_austin_family_lifestyle_baby_photographer.jpgThe one at the top w/ her and her daddy…love (be sure to check out Blake’s beautiful work.) I’d say parenthood looks good on them and they’ve done a wonderful job raising a joyful, charming baby girl.

This family has got some good genes, don’t they??? We had so much fun working together and he had the perfect chubby cheeks. I can’t wait to see if he’s going to have his big sister’s amazing hair!

during this newborn session that I will never forget. It had been cold for quite sometime and on this day, it was nice and warm. Mom and dad were playing with the baby on the bed and we unwrapped him from his blanket. It was as if they were unwrapping a gift. It was incredible to be there to watch them as they got to explore their son’s newborn-ness for the first time. They were lost in their own world…peeking at tiny toes, noticing those little lashes, the way his belly moved when he breathed. It was magical.

Walking up to her at our session this week, I kept tearing up. I was having flashbacks to here…and then to here (sigh)…and then this…and to these from last fall…

fallm_austin_family_photographer.jpgI admit it’s a little tough for me to watch these kiddos grow up. It reminds me of how fast my own children are growing. But it does make me happy that families are documenting each of these milestones in photographs…something I promise they will never regret. It makes me excited to see how much she’s going to change even over the next year. Thank you guys…from the bottom of my heart..it has been a beautiful, beautiful year with you!

I.love.this.kid. And his family. It was truly by luck that we were able to squeeze in his newborn session almost a year ago and I’m so happy we did. Oh, did I ever share pics from his 4 month session in November?

da_austin_baby_photographer.jpgSee what I mean???? *Every* time!

This boy is 100% pure Texan…from his namesake all the way down to his Radio Flyer wagon:

Just a few favs from his newborn session.

But I realized I hadn’t yet shared his 9 month session:

This little guy has become one of my favorite subjects to photograph. He has such a joyful disposition and those bright eyes just light up the world! (This was another session that was part of the in-home session demonstrations for the www.pinkletoes4photographers.com workshops).

I’m fairly certain I’ve teared up at every newborn session, but this one was almost too much to bear. From the moment I walked in, mom was snuggled up nursing baby boy and I glanced upon her dresser to find this framed hand-written list from her husband. The very idea that he wrote this out was so moving, but the fact it was framed just cemented it.

g2_austin_newborn_lifestyle_photographer.jpgWe were all so happy…so joyful…so eager to celebrate this little man’s birth! There were so many tears all around. Notice the one in his grandmother’s eye. We actually had to stop the session several times because we were so caught up in it all. I told them I would *never* be able to finish the session if we didn’t collect ourselves, but once the waterworks turned on, we were all goners. This one makes me giggle:

g4_austin_newborn_lifestyle_photographer.jpg(I wish someone could have gotten all of us in the frame…you can’t see my own tissue 😉

g3_austin_newborn_lifestyle_photographer.jpgBut these last two images really captured the vibe of that morning for me. I was photographing dad and his boy and I could literally *feel* the gaze of mom back there. The love was so intense…so palatable. Wow. It got me. Still gets me.
