…like take a snack break, for instance 😉
And play airplane and read and tickle and laugh.
See what I mean? Look at those yummy colors!!!
Their backyard was just as magical.
Very much looking forward to seeing these two play in front of a crowd someday. I can say I knew them when 😉
Sigh. I was there forever that night. I didn’t want to leave. We were having such a great time hanging out, playing around, sharing stories, and commiserating about the “joys” of having three kiddos. Erin…I know I’ve told you this before, but your family is amazing and you and Adam have done such a great job as parents. I admire your easy-going nature (even if you claim it wasn’t always so). So glad to have you as a friend, my dear.
…and I thoroughly enjoyed exploring their property, where we decided to commemorate her 1 year birthday.
One year of motherhood. And fatherhood…
One full year as a family of three.
They have big plans for this place. Her daddy says he’s going to build her a tree house right here.
They are a wonderfully connected couple.
We were packing up and heading to the car when I noticed this scene…
…and then we headed to the house for a few more…
The one at the top w/ her and her daddy…love (be sure to check out Blake’s beautiful work.) I’d say parenthood looks good on them and they’ve done a wonderful job raising a joyful, charming baby girl.
The creamiest complexion, lips TDF, and *just* enough baby chub. Her daddy is also a pretty skilled photographer…just LOVE that canvas he created for his wifey up there.
I admit it’s a little tough for me to watch these kiddos grow up. It reminds me of how fast my own children are growing. But it does make me happy that families are documenting each of these milestones in photographs…something I promise they will never regret. It makes me excited to see how much she’s going to change even over the next year. Thank you guys…from the bottom of my heart..it has been a beautiful, beautiful year with you!
This boy is 100% pure Texan…from his namesake all the way down to his Radio Flyer wagon:
which was an absolute BLAST:

But I realized I hadn’t yet shared his 9 month session:
We were all so happy…so joyful…so eager to celebrate this little man’s birth! There were so many tears all around. Notice the one in his grandmother’s eye. We actually had to stop the session several times because we were so caught up in it all. I told them I would *never* be able to finish the session if we didn’t collect ourselves, but once the waterworks turned on, we were all goners. This one makes me giggle:
(I wish someone could have gotten all of us in the frame…you can’t see my own tissue 😉
But these last two images really captured the vibe of that morning for me. I was photographing dad and his boy and I could literally *feel* the gaze of mom back there. The love was so intense…so palatable. Wow. It got me. Still gets me.

See what I mean???? *Every* time!
