I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve been able to do a maternity session in downtown Austin. Too bad because it’s the PERFECT place to take fun, edgy, carefree, urban maternity portraits. Lucky me, because I also had these two (three?) who were just as into the session as I was!

I can’t imagine a better way to spend this Sunday. Welcome to the world, little Jove. There were many people who were very excited to meet you…especially your big brother. As you can see, you’ve made it to the “Friend Wall” as his new best friend. Such a beautiful entrance this afternoon. Congratulations on this precious bundle!

I couldn’t resist. We’ve been working for so long to get moved into the studio and make it operational. We made major progress today. So much so, I was able to set up my light that I’ve had sitting in a box for 2 years now. My two (not-so-willing) models let me do a few test shots before I put them to bed. I’m happy. Very, very happy.

If this doesn’t get you into the holiday spirit, then I *know* this will…

z_holiday_austin_baby_lifestyle_photographer.jpgHad a lovely time with this family this morning! I didn’t want to leave…they had Christmas carols going and stunning holiday decorations (mom did it all herself!) and that roaring fire…it was perfect! And, it also makes my heart leap whenever I see things like this in the house:

z_austin_commercial_photographer.jpgIt’s even sitting in the very spot where we took that picture!

sparkly_georgetown_senior_portraits.jpgI’d say this constitutes sparkly ;-). A wonderful, magical, “sparkly” senior portrait session this morning in wonderful, magical, “sparkly” Austin, TX.

Since he happens to share a birth day with my daughter, I thought it fitting to re-visit this.

Wow. I’m a little behind on this, huh? I have to say I had a tough time choosing because there have been so many amazing families this fall with some really unique images. I figure that since I’m so late in posting this, I could pick more than one for each month.  [What is Pinkle’s Pic of the Month?]

So, here are the winners for October:

(hey…just noticed there’s a theme there….)

And then, here are the winners for November:

We’ve got one more round of winners to come at the end of December and then in January, it’s voting time again! I can’t wait to see what happens this year!

Congratulations to all of the finalists!

Mama said she wanted to go to a place where I hadn’t photographed before. That pretty much ruled out all of Austin, so we headed to historic Gruene. We battled multiple diaper changes and charity races and storm clouds and overly friendly hotel staff and the oh-so-typical two kids heading in opposite directions, but we managed to get some GREAT shots! So glad we all hung in there!

While I did post this one from the road the other day, I felt I owed it to my friend, Stacy, to give her a proper sneak peek. Honestly, I wish I had time to show her more because I think she will be amazed at how beautiful her family is together on camera.

I thoroughly enjoyed the time our families got to spend together in Port Aransas this weekend. That moonlit walk on the beach with the kiddos will go down as one of my favorite beach trip memories ever. I hope you guys made some amazing memories of your own down here in TX on your much-deserved vacation. I feel so blessed to have met such a kind friend and talented photog in person…finally!

Much love,

Michele

Thought this was a neat view from under the desk as I set everything up IN THE NEW STUDIO!!! Started the moving in process today. We’ve still got a ways to go, but let us not skip past the fact that I am typing from the studio as we speak. Wow. Wow. Wow.
