berry_austin_childrens_photographer.jpgWe’ve been planning to take the kids out to Sweet Berry Farm in Marble Falls for some time now and I’m so thankful to my friend, Karyn, for pulling this trip all together for us. It was drizzling most of the day, but no one seemed to mind. The lush berry fields were so beautiful and oh, how lovely it was to watch my kiddos pick berries, pet the baby goats and donkeys, run around and play tag, and just enjoy a break from the chaos at our house right now (more on that later).

Some snaps from today:

But I really enjoyed watching my baby girl explore. She hasn’t really had a chance to venture outside like this since she started walking (our land is pretty wild) and I’m going to share a little secret here: the child does not eat fruits or vegetables. My boys were usually pretty good about this, but she just won’t touch anything green or good for you. She has refused to eat every strawberry ever offered to her, but she went WILD over these! The very first one she plucked off the bush and plopped the whole thing into her mouth, juice dribbling down her chin. She was unstoppable! She was crazed! After about 4 or 5 of ’em, honestly, she looked like she had killed a pig. She was the funniest thing ever stealing strawberries out of everyone’s baskets and giggling her new word for berry, “Ber! Ber! Ber!” over and over again.

I love this girl. My little strawberry shortcake.

  • These are such great shots. What way to stay present in the moments of their childhood. I love your son’s red shirt and all the vivid colors. Looks like it was an awesome day!

  • I can’t wait to do this with my kids in May….that’s when the farm will open for strawberry pickin and strawberries are my fav fruit! I love these! Glad to see the family day out went so well!

  • Oh my gosh…look at her shoes…LOVE!!!! I love the story too! Next family outing you need to hand over the camera to your hubs…so you can be in the pics 🙂 As always…great pictures 🙂

  • we just took a trip to the strawberry patch here in Houston too! So fun and lots of strawberry jam for stocking stuffers this year. Great shots of your family!

  • so fun!!! love these pictures

  • When I was a kid, my best friend’s parents owned a strawberry farm! Picking strawberries brings back so many childhood memories for me! Great photos!

  • Oh I just LOVE strawberry picking time! We’ve been twice already this year! I love how much fun the kids have and how crazy messy they can make things!!!! Thanks for sharing!

  • The stains on her shirt is probably my favorite part. You know it’s been enjoyed when there are leftover stains. So cute.

  • One of my fondest memories was picking strawberries and going over to Boxley’s ranch and having a big ole country breakfast and sharing so many laughs and stories. A wondeful day. I will never forget how much fun we all had. The little ones look like they are completely enjoying themselves. Well done.

  • Katie,
