So, we returned from our little weekend getaway to Great Wolf Lodge only to come home to 2-3 inches of standing water in the studio and my husband’s office (a pipe burst). Fortunately, most everything is okay–even my camera bag that was sitting IN WATER…somehow, my camera and lenses made it out alive. However, the floor is going to have to be replaced and that means we’re relegated to a small corner of the studio for now. Please try to be patient with us as we work to get everything back to normal (ha) around here.
[Note: Nobody panic. The blog is not broken. As part of a personal journey/experiment, comments have been disabled. Come hang out if you feel like it, take what you will from the posts, and don’t feel obligated to say a single word. I’ll certainly post more on this journey later, but let’s just say I’ve come to several realizations about myself…one of those being that I have developed an addiction to communication. Kind of funny coming from someone who majored in Communications, dontcha think? Wait. Don’t answer that.]

high school juniors who will be graduating from any high school in the
Austin area in 2012 (Westlake, Cedar Park, Leander, Lake Travis, Round
Rock, Pflugerville, Georgetown, etc). This is your chance to have your
senior portraits taken for FREE and earn unique photo rewards! Signed
model release will be required. The process is very selective and we
will only choose one senior model per high school. If you’re interested
in finding out more, please fill out this form. Only applications via this form will be considered. Deadline to apply is March 31, 2011.

Let’s kick off 2011 the best way I can imagine with a recap of 2010 and determining our 2nd Annual Pinkle’s Pic of the Year Winner! Each month in 2010, I selected an image (or images) that moved me, but now (as before) it’s YOUR job as the Pinkle Toes Blogstalkers to decidewhich of these was the best image of 2010.
M’kay, let’s vote! You can click on the images in the poll to view larger:

The fine print:

Just like last year, I have absolutely NO clue who is going to take this prize. I’m just as excited as these families are to find out what will happen. (Did you know we had more than 1,400 votes last year??? Craziness!)
And of course, I can’t start a new year without taking a look back at all of the amazing people I’ve had the fortune of working with last year. I love making this slideshow every year…I love remembering each and every session. Be warned, though, this slideshow had to go pretty fast so I could fit all of the images in. Be sure to watch because it’s full of my favs from the year and many, many images that I haven’t even blogged yet:

We need even more newborn models to be on call for our Feb professional photographer workshops (held in the Pinkle Toes studio in Austin, TX).
If your due date falls between Jan 20th-Feb 20th, we’d love to put you on our call list. If you want to be on call, please fill out THIS FORM. Only submissions via this form will be accepted (not phone calls, not e-mails, not comments, not facebook). If you’ve already submitted this form for the first round, there’s no need to send again.
Newborn models (and their mommies and daddies if possible), must be available in the afternoon on at least one of these dates:
- Thu Feb 10th
- Thu Feb 24th

– Maternity models must be available Sat Jan 15th and/or Sat.Jan 22nd.
– Newborn models must be available Thu Jan 13th and/or Thu Jan 20th.
– Signed model release required.
