FAQ’s:
- Can
I use the images taken at the workshop for my portfolio? Yes, you will have opportunities to shoot throughout the workshop. - Will
we go over your workflow? Yes! We will dive right in and show you step
by step from start to finish how we achieve our looks. - Do
you have to shoot or own studio lighting to attend? Not at all. We
will demonstrate studio lighting basics and natural light principles, and you can return home and
continue using natural light if you choose. You will just have the
knowledge on what to purchase if that time comes. Artificial light should act just like your window except ours plugs in. - What
do I need to bring? Your camera and a fixed lens such as a 50mm or
35mm. A wide angle zoom lens would also be helpful. Its assumed that attendees know how to shoot in manual mode and
have a basic understanding of Photoshop. You do not need to know how to
use studio lighting, we will teach you the basics to return home and put
your new found knowledge to use. - What should I do to prepare for the workshop? In the past, we have found that connecting with and getting to know your fellow attendees has allowed for a more enriching workshop experience. We will create a private Facebook group just for these attendees where you can chat and even coordinate travel and lodging arrangements with one another if you so choose.
- How is this workshop different from Michele’s Pinkle Toes 4 Photographers workshops? This workshop is completely focused on newborn photography and you do not have to be a member of Pinkle Toes 4 Photographers to attend. You will have the unique opportunity to view two very different approaches to newborn photography in a single workshop. (Pinkle Toes 4 Photographers are longer, more intensive, cover a broader range of topics, and are only hosted by Michele.)
- How is this workshop different from Laura Brett’s Baby Business Workshops and Mentoring? This workshop will actually be about the same
as what Laura does with her 1;1, but this workshop is a dual effort
where you see two different styles and approaches.
Thanks to the not-so-gentle urging of a friend of mine, I decided to take part in the Austin Fashion Week Mash Up team photo competition. If you’d like to vote for our images (there are two) you can do so HERE…
and HERE:
I gotta say I’m really proud of us (and all of the teams for that matter). We literally had two weeks notice to coordinate everyone’s schedules (there 7 busy designers/moms/artists/women), get the clothing and accessories together, plan and execute the shoots, and submit our final images. It was INSANE!!! It was quite the privilege to work with so many amazing people!! We’d greatly appreciate your vote. But the best part is that you can vote for more than one image–which is great because there are so many wonderful pics, I’m not sure how to choose just one!
Just a quick note to let everyone know that I’m catching up from the workshop this weekend and I’m going to be out of commission all day on Wed. the 13th (it’s a good thing…well, TWO good things). If you’re waiting on an e-mail or phone call from me, I will tackle those by this weekend. Thanks so much for your patience!
Sort of a side topic:

November is almost, too,
Book your holiday session now,
Or you’ll be blue.
We can hold it in July
Or August is neat.
For a full session those months,
You’ll get a special treat.
Obviously I’m tired,
And my poetry is lame.
But without family pictures,
Your cards simply won’t be the same.
——————-
Okay, enough of that. (I can’t believe I went there.) All I wanted to say was this:
- Check out the Session Openings calendar to see what’s left.
- If you’re willing to hold your family session in July or August, you’ll receive a FREE set of 24 flat holiday cards (choose one from 5 designs – those two above included). To qualify, session must be booked by May 31st, 2011 (mini or Xpressions sessions
do not qualify for this offer). - To find out how to reserve your session
and get information on the NEW flat-rate pricing structure, please
complete THIS FORM.
