My girl has attitude, that’s for sure! Just testing out some fashion inspiration for the Back-to-School mini’s. Just a handful of openings left now!

I was more than just a little thrilled when I happened to drive by this super cool spot on my way home one day. I’d been trying to think of the PERFECT location for this family with two active little boys and wouldn’t you know it, this place had it all! Trucks, a school bus,…a dinosaur. Yeah. We were all a bit giddy…

…your idea is bad ass.  Love it.  Let’s light this candle.

That note from dad had me laughing until I cried. I knew this was going to be a killer session!

But wouldn’t you know it, the kids weren’t nearly as excited about the dinosaur as we were. In fact, they were pretty much terrified and we could barely get them to go near it. We tried and tried and tried, but we only managed a couple of shots. After all my years of doing this AND as a mom, you would think I would understand Murphy’s Law is king when it comes to the wee ones ;-). So, I let my dino dreams sour and we opted instead for drawing, playing on the playground, making music, trucks, bike riding, and just exploring the area. I happen to LOVE those images so much more than anything I was imagining with the dino. He was silly looking anyway 😉

Let’s create the most unique school portrait your child may ever have and do something to give back to Austin at the same time!! I’m incredibly excited to be able to offer these sessions both at the Pinkle Toes Studio (outdoor set) and inside Gro Boutique at the Hill Country Galleria (if you haven’t been there to shop…oh, you must!). I’ve been working for MONTHS on the set and props…just wait until you see it all. Please contact me for full details (photogs…please use my photographer form if you are asking questions not related to scheduling a session):

These two weren’t thrilled to be up so early in the morning, but once they got to exploring, they didn’t mind so much. Are you kidding me with those lace outfits at the beginning? Dear me. Too cute! At their newborn session, it wasn’t tough to tell who was who. Still holds true at one year! [Don’t miss the ultimate portrayal of motherhood outtake HERE.]

This has been an incredibly long process and I know I still have some work to do on it, but I’m thrilled to have something fresh for Pinkle Toes Photography! I LOVE change! Thanks for coming by and I hope you like the changes, too!

Speaking of changes, for those dying to see my new pink hair, courtesy of Katie, here ya go:

Didn’t she do a GREAT job? That girl is so talented…not only did she color and cut my hair she styled it, did my makeup, AND took these pics! Yeah. Katie rocks.

I’ve been working with this family since that young man was just a babe…he wasn’t even walking yet! We were so excited to get together in downtown Austin for a fun, hip, urban, cityscape session. But as we met up, the clouds started rolling in (stealing my beautiful light) and the wind whipped around us like crazy. At one point, I’m pretty sure we were able to lean into the wind without falling over. I don’t know how mama managed to still look completely perfect during the crazy windstorm, but somehow she did. Now we have to start planning what we’re going to do this year for their annual family session…wheels turnin’.

I think it’s pretty safe to say that you all know stylized sessions aren’t my thing. Buuuuuut…every now and then I get inspired by a concept and give it a go. If you have an idea for your own family photo session, tell me! While I can’t promise to make all of your wildest dreams come true, you never know what ideas might take!
These beautiful little ones had SO much fun splashing in their tub and I could not get over how dreamlike and summery the images turned out. I wish I had done this with my own kiddos…
My personal favorite image from this session can be seen HERE, by the way.

And by “toasty,” I mean we were working in the triple digits. But bless the three (four?) of them…they gave their hearts for their photo session and even put up with my indecisive parking error 😉 (gotta love Austin and her random middle-of-the-week-blow-out-concerts). I was *very* tempted to jump into that fountain myself, by the way.
Little man’s smile was totally contagious while I was editing this session and it really made me even more excited to meet that little girl still cooking away. I think she’s going to be pretty happy to find she has two amazing parents and a super-loving big brother all ready to welcome her.
On the subject of newborn photography, in case you missed it, photogs, my feature in Pix Magazine came out this week. What a cool publication and it’s FREE!
P.S. Be sure to see my personal favorite image from this session not shown here, but HERE 😉
Night night!

On July 4th, it was exactly one year ago when I first met him. I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to watch him grow and change, little by little, over the past year with mini sessions to mark each of his milestones. But, boy did we have fun at this last one. He is such a JOY!!!
For giggles, I thought I’d throw this together (although I’m bummed to realize we didn’t do the tie at his 4 month session):

Boy can wear a tie, though!

A little bit ago, I had the opportunity to photography some fall lines for gro boutique here in Austin (brand new store…check it out!). We pulled it together so quickly and wouldn’t you know it, it was drizzling when we arrived bright and early for the shoot. But our little models were AMAZING and they pulled it off somehow. Well done, little ladies!
