So this year, I didn’t get much any say in the choice of Halloween costumes. This is what happens when you let Dad help them make their selections. I did make my eldest take his mask off for one pic so I could see some semblance of my sweet boy underneath. My rocker son was pretty spot on. And of course my princess never disappoints ;-0. None of these made my 365, however. I wanted to capture something else for that…
Hope you all had a wonderful and safe Halloween with cuter costumes than what I was working with ;-).
I left their home that evening grinning from ear to ear. How could I not? That little cutie’s energy and enthusiasm is wildly contagious. Plus, I’m a sucker for redheads anyway. But just look at how his parents were admiring him in those last couple of images. That boy is LOVED! No doubt about it! Fav family image HERE and then THIS ONE just slays me.
Just a reminder…I’ve got a few openings left for my holiday minis coming up at the end of November. It’s not too late to snag your spot, but in a few weeks, it will be :-(.
I love that this mama loves color just as much as I do (if not more?). I will maintain that this was the very last day of summer, even though this was just a few weeks ago at the end of September. While it’s not “cold” by any stretch of the imagination right now, it’s certainly not warm enough to do a kitschy, Airstream, all-American-summer-fun inspired photo session these days. I’m so glad we got to do this! It makes me think of my summers as a kiddo, where a soda pop, a pinwheel, and a blow up pool could turn an ordinary day into something magical! Another image HERE and my absolute FAV HERE and do NOT miss this one HERE!
Oh, this little man. So handsome and he knows it! There was so much for him to see while we were in downtown Austin and he sure enjoyed being the center of attention with his entourage. We grown ups must have looked like a bunch crazies, cooing and making faces and trying to get him to laugh, LOL. He does dashing well, though, don’t you think?
P.S. The last I looked, the holiday mini sessions are more than half full. Don’t miss out!
Make no mistake about it, this mama is BUSY!!! I remember being so amazed during her maternity session several years ago that there were TWO babies in there and now I’m just as amazed by how she keeps up with these adorable little monkey bugs with perfect grace and enthusiasm nowadays! In case you missed it, you should really treat yourself to these smarties in a little behind-the-scenes video from their session. Couple of favs featured HERE and HERE. And oh yes, we thought we’d revisit THIS attempt at a specific image last year ;-). I love both equally.
And finally, side note: the 3rd Annual Holiday Mini sessions are being snagged up pretty quickly. Don’t wait too much longer to secure your spot. We will not be adding extra dates and times.
This past summer, I had the privilege of working with Lindsey and her family. It was then that I first heard of aerial yoga and I was totally intrigued. I got to see Lindsey and her girls in action when I went to her Yogapeutics studio and take a few promo photographs for her (you DON’T want to miss those pics because Lindsey and her girls are MUCH more graceful and talented than I am with this thing ;-). Today, it was finally our turn and I got to spend a WONDERFUL hour and fifteen minutes hanging out with my baby girl! In fact, I loved it so much, I’ve purchased my own hammock and signed up for the mother/daughter workshop with Lindsey in January ;-). Very, very excited to continue this journey and I thank Lindsey for inspiring me to do so.
Spaces will be filled first come, first serve and we will not be adding more dates, so snag an opening while you can! For full details, be sure to drop a line ASAP!
[Remember, these mini sessions are ONLY available to clients who book a full 2014 session…they cannot be purchased separately]
Yeah, I always get a bit misty when I see my newborns for their ONE YEAR photo session :-(. I love seeing how much they’ve stayed the same and at the same time, just how much they’ve changed. Mommy brought a special book to use for this session…it was hers growing up (you can even see her name she wrote on the cover) and he was completely enthralled with looking at the pages. Smart kid! {another fav HERE}
A few weeks ago, I got to spend a beautiful morning with this little cutie pie. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I LOVE working with newborns that are a little bit older than that golden “10 day rule.” Rules were made to be broken anyway and I quite enjoy the level of comfort, ease, and interaction you can get with a baby that’s just a little bit older and parents that are just a little bit wiser. For what it’s worth, I totally dug mom’s sense of style and I’m just going to have to have her decorate my whole house someday. See my favorite image BIGGER.
Whenever I do a newborn photo session, I always think back to the maternity pictures…especially for first-time parents. It’s fascinating watching a young couple become their roles and witnessing all of the excitement that comes before a baby arrives as well as the newly found love after baby is born:
No. Literally. When I walked through the door and saw just how much this little guy had gone from baby/toddler and turned into a little boy and I pretty much went crazy. I mean, we have a history together…even before he was actually born, and so you can understand my shock when I realized that his white-blonde hair had turned into more of a sandy blonde hue and his vocabulary had grown exponentially and he is becoming all the things that my own kiddos are becoming…older…grown up…more independent. I get choked up just thinking about it, actually.
Okay. Enough about that. This may have been one of my more memorable sessions with his family, mostly because it was so relaxed and so much about being together at home…as a family. I am WAY impressed with his dad and his “labor of love” he undertook when building that playscape by hand. My heart swells to think about the memories they have created for their son. Well done!!!
And of course, you MUST see my absolute fav from this session HERE.
