If I’m being honest, driving out to their home tonight, I was soooooooo tired. I had my head buried in paperwork all day long and I was afraid I wasn’t going to be able to muster the energy needed for 3 bubbly kiddos. But from the *second* she opened the door, I instantly felt like I was exactly where I was supposed to be. I just knew we were going to have a great time tonight. And we did!!! Erin…I’m so thankful to know you and your family and I hereby promise (in public) that we *will* have a playdate before another year goes by!

Last fall, everything was gold…the leaves, the light, the land, the flowers. How fitting to represent this time of golden opportunities that await after her senior year.

we spoke on the phone, I knew I was going to love this family. They way mom described her children and how she wanted to capture this time in their lives…everything she was saying was right up my alley. Upon actually meeting them and visiting in their home, I became so overwhelmed with all of the inspiration…my mind was spinning that afternoon. I didn’t leave until well after dark. I love sessions like that.

I thoroughly enjoyed working and chatting with her tonight. Such an exciting time in her life as she finishes up high school and ventures off to a BIG city (as in New York big) to start following her dreams. But the more we talked, the more I realized that as much as things have changed since I was in high school, much more than that has stayed exactly the same. And that’s really cool….
…because it makes me feel like I’m not quite as as old as I actually am. 😉

After a week of setbacks and sickness, it’s been nice to stay in and hang with the kids. T-man decided that we didn’t have enough to keep track of in this house and introduced two new frogs/toads (there is debate) to our zoo. Logs has been practicing for his upcoming recital and I’m so proud of him for finding something that’s *all his* for a change. The littlest Anderson has decided that she enjoys cooking and has become a huge help (not really) in the kitchen. And yes, those are mealworms next to the wine on the counter. Welcome to my home.

Had to laugh: we rescheduled her senior portraits due to freakishly strong winds only to end up on a day that was just as windy ;-). But you know what? It worked out for us just lovely, I think.

I’ve worked with him several times over the past few years, but I really felt like he let me into his world this time and I think we both had fun.

and appreciate how much time is actually put into a session–before, during, and after. In looking through these, I know how each image is special for it’s own reasons. And then when you think that these are only a handful of the images that have been created so far this year–not just by me, but by every other person who owns a camera–wow! This digital age is truly something beyond comprehension!

I’d say these went a *little* better than last year.
[Before anyone asks: If you want to find a good spot for bluebonnet pictures, I’m sorry, but there is no magic answer. You *have* to put in the time to drive around. It really depends on safety (ie. not two feet from the highway), the time of day, weather, and many other factors. So be brave and get out there and look around. I did.]
